The repairs that we get asked to carry out at White’s Bodyworks in West Sussex vary widely. We can handle major restorations or renovations for classic cars or much more minor work for a vehicle that is otherwise in great condition.
Such was the case with this Honda CB500. We were tasked here with repairing the chrome brackets on the headlights which had been damaged over time. While the job was fairly small, it’s an example of where expertise and skill matters quite a lot.
That’s something we have a fair bit of at White’s and it’s why classic motorbike and car owners come to us from far and wide.
More About the Honda CB500
The Honda CB500 was produced between 1971 and 1978 and was a light but powerful bike that did well on the US market as well as here in the UK. It’s certainly a good looking bike and a favourite with motorcycle enthusiasts who prefer something traditional and substantial that more modern bikes don’t deliver.
With an electric start and a top speed of 100 mph, the bike won the TT production race on the Isle of Man when it was ridden by Bill Smith in 1973.
White’s Bodyworks and Classic Motorbikes
Not all the work we get asked to do at White’s Bodyworks involves a major effort on the part of the classic bike and car team. The headlights are fairly small and this was quite an intricate job that involved chrome painting the lamp brackets.
The rest of the bike was in pretty good condition and had been well looked after over the years. However careful you are to protect your classic bike or car, natural wear and tear will eventually take its toll. At White’s Bodyworks, our aim is to produce the quality renovations you are looking for which is why we always work closely with owners.
