With the recent release of Fast X, we thought we’d take a look at some of the classic cars that have been featured in the movies over the last few decades.
The Fast and Furious franchise has captivated audiences around the world with its high-octane action sequences and thrilling car races.
Over the years, the films have showcased a wide range of iconic cars that have become synonymous with the franchise. Here are just a few of our favourites
The 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, also known as the "Dom's Charger," is one of the most recognizable cars from the franchise. Driven by Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, this is the classic muscle car that has become an iconic symbol of the series.
With its sleek design, powerful engine, and signature black paint job, the Charger R/T perfectly embodies the spirit of the movies.
The Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 gained popularity among car enthusiasts worldwide after its appearance in the second instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise.
Driven by Brian O'Conner, played by the late Paul Walker, this Japanese sports car showcased impressive performance capabilities and a distinct blue colour. Its sleek lines and turbocharged engine made it a fan favourite even with classic car enthusiasts.
The Toyota Supra is another legendary car featured prominently in the movies. Known for its striking design and exceptional performance, the Supra had something extra which made it a highly sought-after car for vintage vehicle lovers. Brian O'Conner's orange Supra from the first movie became an instant sensation and sales of model cars for kids and adults went through the roof.
This classic American car made its mark in Fast and Furious 7 with its boxy, slightly aggressive appearance and powerful roaring V8 engine.
Decked out in vibrant colours and adorned with eye-catching decals, this perfectly embodies the spirit of the films in every way. Its high-speed chases and adrenaline-fueled moments left a lasting impression on viewers.
In actual fact, the franchise has featured no less than 4 Plymouth Road Runners to date.
This is a true classic that has left an indelible mark on the franchise. Its muscular body, powerful engine and roaring exhaust make the Chevelle SS a perfect match for Dom and his team. Whether it was tearing through the streets or engaging in intense race scenes, the car showcased its capabilities and became a firm favourite with fans.
Introduced in the eighth film of the franchise, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was instantly recognisable to classic car enthusiasts around the world. With its amazing horsepower and lightning-fast acceleration, it’s a muscle car that perfectly blends contemporary design with raw power. Today, you can pick up a pristine Dodge Challenger for around $100,000.
The 1965 Ford GT40 appeared in the Fast Five movie and is probably one of our favourites at White’s Bodyworks. As sports cars go you can’t get better than this with its sleek aerodynamic profile and impressive performance statistics. The car had to be faithfully recreated for the movie at great cost but remains one of the more iconic vehicles in the franchise.
The Lykan HyperSport, known for its eye-catching design and limited production numbers, brought an element of exclusivity to the seventh film in the franchise. Diamond-encrusted headlights might seem like going a bit too far but the rarity and high-performance capabilities made it an object of desire for car enthusiasts worldwide.
It went up for auction in 2021 with a price tag of $3.7 million.
As classic car enthusiasts, this is another one of our favourites. If you love American cars then this will certainly fire up your enthusiasm. A custom build monster with a 1,500-horsepower, twin-turbo Chevrolet small-block V8, this attracted a lot of attention from fans when it appeared in the original Fast and Furious.
