The Goodwood Festival of Speed features a variety of activities and attractions to suit the most ardent enthusiast. The big event is the famous hill climb, where participants race up a 1.16-mile course, showcasing their speed, skill and the power of their vintage vehicles. It’s a brilliant highlight for both drivers and spectators alike with an exhilarating experience as the cars roar past.
The festival also has exhibitions, displays, and demonstrations of historic and iconic vehicles throughout the ages. Silverstone Festival is a three-day motor racing event held at the famous circuit in Northamptonshire. Essentially, it is a celebration of all things motorsport, with a wide range of events and activities taking place, including historic racing, live music, family fun and some amazing food.
Silverstone Festival is the largest historic motorsport event in the world and attracts over 100,000 spectators each year. You’ll find everything from classic Formula 1 cars to vintage touring cars to get your juices flowing.
In addition to some fun racing and entertainment, Silverstone Festival also features interactive displays giving visitors, especially the kids, the chance to learn more about motorsport.
The Old Ford Rally is the main event of the day and features a parade of classic Fords around the museum's test track. There are also several static displays, including a collection of Ford racing cars you can take a closer look at as well as a display of Ford vehicles from the world of film and television.
The Rootes Heritage part is a new addition to the event and celebrates classic Rootes Group vehicles, such as Hillmans, Humbers, and Sunbeams. There are also some static displays, including a collection of racing cars and some of the more famous vehicles from the past.
The event is a great opportunity for classic car enthusiasts to come together and celebrate their passion for these iconic vehicles and it’s always well attended. At just £14.50 it’s also one of the cheaper options if you’re going to a formal classic car event this summer.
